Deirdre Maultsaid received a Bachelors of Communications from Simon Fraser University in 1984 and a Master of Education (Adult Education) from UBC in 2001.

Prior to joining UBC CPD in 2008, she was working on the design and evaluation of an online Infection Control course. The online Infection Control course is widely used throughout BC, including at VCHA, NHA, PHSA and UBC departments. Deirdre Maultsaid is also involved in teaching communication skills to staff of international humanitarian organizations through the Commonwealth of Learning. Deirdre is interested in helping small group and problem–based learning to flourish, especially in rural BC communities. Deirdre manages the Dementia Education Strategy and the Rural Continuing Professional Development Programs for UBC – CPD
