Jeff Plant MD FRCPC Medical Director - Specialists, UBC CPD/RCPSC Emergency Physician, Penticton Regional Hospital Clinical Lead, IHA Rural Emergency Simulation Program
Email: jeff.p@ubc.ca
Jeff Plant completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Calgary in 2000. He practiced in Calgary at the Foothills Medical Center and the Alberta Childrens Hospital until 2003. Seeking the challenge of working in a rural environment, he moved his family to Nelson, BC in 2003 and worked in the emergency department there until 2009 when he moved, and currently works, in Penticton, BC.
In addition to clinical practice, he has developed a rural simulation program for the Interior Health Authority. This program takes a high fidelity simulator to rural emergency departments so practitioners can learn in their home community, and in their own trauma room. Currently the program has 5 teams of educators serving over 25 sites.
Outside of the medical realm, you will find him in various rinks, gyms, and fields across western Canada as he supports his 3 teenagers in their various sporting activities.
