Ran Goldman, MD

Dr. Ran Goldman comes to this role from his position as Chief of the academic Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at BC Children's hospital and as an Associate professor with the Department of Pediatrics with over 100 peer reviewed publications. Ran received his MD from Haddassa Medical School, and did his residency at the Haim Sheba Medical Centre in Tel Aviv. He also holds a Master of Science in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University. Dr. Goldman completed residency in pediatrics and fellowships in pediatric emergency and clinical pharmacology and toxicology in Israel and Canada, and recently was a faculty member at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto before joining the Faculty of Medicine at UBC in 2007.

Ran is passionate about research, clinical medicine, and education and has been highly involved with physician continuing education for most of his career. He has developed curricula for several large and highly effective CPD events. These CPD activities, along with his clinical work, have given him a broad understanding of the CPD needs of physicians. He has a special interest in program evaluation, as well as in new and ongoing collaborations and partnerships in the area of knowledge transfer and CPD programming to support improved physician practice that will promote better patient health outcomes.
