Course Overview The BC Preclinical Research Consortium (BCPRC) is an innovative platform providing researchers with access to state-of-the-art research facilities, equipment, highly qualified personnel and services to investigate models of human disease and to assess safe and effective treatment solutions designed to alter the course of disease development and progression.
The goals of this venture are centered on enabling preclinical research across the life sciences sector, creating an unparalleled network of researchers. Development of this internationally competitive network will foster communication, collaboration, education and an overall greater efficiency in preclinical animal research in British Columbia, nationally and internationally.
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for life sciences researchers and professionals to come together, network and build synergies in preclinical research at the inaugural session of the British Columbia Preclinical Research Symposium on October 28th and 29th, 2010 in Vancouver. This conference will specifically focus on new developments in preclinical research, with a specific highlight on advancing technologies. The aims of this Symposium are to provide networking and collaborative opportunities, provide a forum for information exchange and development of strategies for enhancing BC preclinical animal research resources. The conference will provide the opportunity to develop and disseminate evidence related to the benefits and challenges of preclinical model development, genetically modified animal models, phenotyping, pharmacology, imaging technologies and operating high level containment barrier facilities.
This conference will be of interest to these groups:Scientific and opinion leaders in preclinical research and development. Investigators, technologists and laboratory staff. Biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device professionals who conduct or use the services of preclinical research organizations. Managers, and heads of service of preclinical research organizations. Academics and researchers working in the area of preclinical research. Policy makers with an interest in preclinical research.
We look forward to you joining us at our first BC Preclinical Research Symposium!
Sincerely, Dr. Chris Harvey-Clark Executive Director, BC Preclinical Research Consortium
