Conference Overview: 
Join us for the annual one day Screening Mammography Forum which will be of interest to radiologists, physicians & surgeons, technologists and medical physicists concerned with breast imaging and interventional procedures of the breast.  This annual conference also provides professional development and team building opportunities to affiliated radiologists, mammography technologists, and other interested medical professionals and researchers. In addition there will be an exhibition showcase highlighting mammography equipment and products. The Screening Mammography Program now has 40 centres and mobile services providing direct Screening Mammography Program access to approximately 140 communities across the province. This Forum brings together SMPBC staff throughout BC to focus on our common goal - to provide quality screening mammography to women. The SMPBC is internationally recognized as a well-organized, highly effective program.  The Screening Mammography Program of BC (SMPBC) is pleased to announce that its Annual Education Forum will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside.

 

This year the conference will offer a combination of plenary and panel discussions, as well as break out sessions and a preconference workshop for technologists.  Participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of breast imaging. This conference is approved for up to 7.25 MAINPRO M1 and is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Accreditation
:
The University of British Columbia Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) to provide study credits for continuing medical education for physicians.  This program is an Accredited Group Learning Activity eligible for up to 7.25 credits as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  This program has been reviewed and approved by the UBC Division of Continuing Professional Development.  Each physician should claim only those credits he/she actually spent in the activity.
