Heart + Lung FEST Overview: We are delighted to welcome everyone to a rather historic educational event. The Heart + Lung Health FEST 2011 on March 8th through 12th reflects the excellence in our community in all dimensions of aspects of cardiovascular and respiratory sciences. Perhaps most important, the FEST this year brings together two mainstay heart and lung learning initiatives which in prior years ran separately in the month of March. The planning and consultation that spawned the Institute for Heart + Lung Health included a commitment to make our March FEST a venue where everyone in our community as well as others from elsewhere might find the best of information, perspectives, mentoring and networking opportunities. The forerunning FEST’s and Lung Health Days were built on dialogue, expansion of viewpoints and ideas, and good cheer. FEST 2011 sustains these goals, and embraces people from all relevant domains. The program is designed to fully engage the mind and spirit! We offer a menu rich in scientific advances and contemporary policy issues for a world that is open, fast-paced and evermore challenging. The array of discussions and presentations to occur should enable us all to engage people, issues, and opportunities that are compelling and enlightening. Whether driven by unbridled curiosity or a desire to solve the challenges of human aliments, engaging in FEST 2011 will be a satisfying experience.
