About The BC Dementia Education Project:
The BC Dementia Education Project is an initiative that is working for and with physicians to help achieve optimal care for patients suffering from dementia. UBC CPD with support from the Ministry of Health Services, Pharmaceutical Services Division, Alzheimer's Drug Therapy Initiative, has developed family physician and general practitioner focused education on dementia.
Due to the aging population, physicians will be handling increasing numbers of patients with dementia over the coming years. Our education programs have integrated the clinical practice guidelines on cognitive impairment and are designed to assist physicians in this process by giving them the tools and knowledge that they need to manage patients with dementia.
This webpage is intended to serve as a central resource for our educational initiatives relating to dementia. We have links to helpful tools and other resources and to documents with more information about caring for patients with dementia.
For more information about the project, please contact Andrea Keesey, andrea.k@ubc.ca.
